International Workshop on Vegetation LIDAR /
High-Precision 3D Mapping from Space 2022
JAXA has been working on the research and development of the Space LIDAR as a new sensor for Earth observation.
Last October, JAXA launched the pre-project of the MOLI, the first Earth observation LIDAR mission in Japan. On the other hand, some may not know what kind of data the Earth Observation LIDAR observes and how it can be used.
Therefore, to expand the awareness of Earth Observation LIDAR, we will hold a workshop to introduce space lidars such as MOLI. In the first half of the workshop, we will introduce MOLI and GEDI, the Earth Observation LIDAR mission.
In the second half of the workshop, we will discuss expectations for forest observation and high-precision 3D mapping using Earth Observation LIDAR data through lectures and panel discussions, aiming to promote Earth Observation LIDAR.
In the first half of the workshop, the language used to introduce MOLI and online lectures from overseas will be English, including questions and answers.The language used in the subsequent sessions and panel discussions will be Japanese.
